Rat and Mouse Comparison
Possums are marsupial species native to Australia. They are nocturnal and can spend most of their time in the trees. However, they can also get into houses when their natural habitat is threatened or if there is a food attraction. Like rodents, possums can also chew on electrical wirings and other valuable items. In other cases, they can also carry diseases such as salmonella, leptospirosis, tularaemia, and coccidiosis. Possums are not dangerous as long as their interaction with humans is kept to a minimum.
